Limit Consumption of Wheat Flour and Pasta Reduce Breast Cancer Risk

For those of you who like to consume bread and pasta, should begin now reduced portions to reduce breast cancer risk, especially for women. If it is too often consumes these foods, it is feared will increase the risk of breast cancer.

Recent research revealed that the level of consumption of lower wheat flour helped reduce the risk of breast cancer. The study included breast cancer survivors who run diet rich in wheat flour. The researchers have not been able to say with certainty how the trend of the results of these research, but they believe that increased levels of insulin can be triggered by the processed carbohydrates and can stimulate the growth of cancer cells.

A team from the University of California, San Diego, studied the diets of 2651 breast cancer patients for 12 months. They found that carbohydrates in general, especially wheat flour, is associated with risk of developing new tumors. Recurrence rate of 14.2 percent occurred in women who increase their intake of wheat flour, while only 9.7 percent for those that reduce the consumption of wheat flour.

Carbohydrate is the most important fuel for muscle and is an important energy source for brain and central nervous system. However, some kinds may be healthier than others. Refined carbohydrates, like white bread and white pasta contains more wheat flour than whole grains. Although research is still in development, there’s nothing wrong if we are alert to the possibility that there are risks, especially after it was revealed that the wheat flour and pasta can cause breast cancer risk.
